Well, I am still in my big transition phase. Seems like that is where I am all the time, but actually change is the only constant route in life.
It’s been six months now already since I told my boss that I am going to quit my job and therefore almost six months of absence of the corporate environment. Back in those days it was a jump from a cliff into an ocean of uncertainty. At least that is how it seemed to be. In reality it is just about finding another way or a different vehicle that provides the certainty every human being needs.
If you are going to quit a job, that pays your bills in a way that you don’t have to worry about money that much it is a big step towards uncerttainty. Probably a bigger step, than if you quit an average job that is to be found a million times around your area. A job that you can easily turn back to if the previous decision about life feels wrong. So as the worries about money have aroused, there was only one way for me.
Certainty about my future had to come from within! This required a huge shift in my mindset. Did that come in a moment? Surely not!!! It was a constant process that I have been working on for many years to get to that point. That point where certainty from outside is not (that much) needed anymore. Nobody is perfect and there still are shifts to my old me, but it is only getting better and better each day, as I continue to work.
Thoughts about certainty should be taken by all human beings. Deep down in our nature we have an immense biological need for security and that is why we’re seeking it heavily. The problem in our world is, that there NEVER will be absolute security. A basic level can be reached, but never more no metter how much money, friends, houses, guns, insurances, or whatever improves your security, you might have. Think about illness, death, natural catastrophies, financial collapses, loss of jobs due to bankruptcies, … Maybe one is able to learn how to appreciate the surprises that just might wait around the corner and try to go with the flow. Maybe it will bring a more peaceful way of living, when you stay present instead of worrying about the future and the past all the time. You only can stay present, if you implement faith. Faith into a higher power that is there for a reason and taking care of your needs. Let the magic sink in and do its job!
Crises come and crises goes. It cannot be prevented and from my point of view therefore it is senseless to constantly think about how to prevent them. How to be prepared is a completely different story. Don't mess that up. Preperation on being ready to deal and handle struggles is a more proactive way that just helps you to recover more quickly and comebackstronger – mentally, physically and what ever is needed therefore.
Enough for the day as I continue to prepare physically in the gym now!
All the best and lots of love,
Wilhelm
